🎙️ Our special guest, Matt Zaslansky, will share insights on the importance of linguistic diversity and preservation.
📌 Matthew Zaslansky is a linguist with over a decade of experience working on linguistic documentation projects in Azerbaijan, New York, Georgia, Russia, and Uzbekistan. He is currently based at UC San Diego and has previously been affiliated with the U.S. Department of State and the Endangered Language Alliance in NYC.

We are happy to invite you to our annual Friendsgiving potluck event. Join us for a warm community evening, full of delicious food, friendly conversations and just fun memories with your fellow community members. Make sure to invite those new to the area or without many family members around! These kinds of events are a perfect way to expand your network and make new friends.
A few notes about the event:
We will be providing plates, eating utensils, napkins, water and tea, as well as the traditional centerpiece turkey!
This is a community potluck so within your abilities, please bring a dish or an item to share, estimated for ~10 people. Please bring it ready to serve (with a holding platter and serving utensils). There will be an oven if you need to warm it.
According to our agreement with the facility, alcohol is not allowed in the venue.

Let’s see how much you know! Get a team together and join us for fun and intellectual trivia games in Azerbaijani language! The games will follow the format of famous “Brain Ring” competitions.
Eight teams will compete for the Main Cup, with the top three earning medals. Along with intelligence, sometimes agility and luck will be needed from participants! You can register as a team of 5 or individually, in which case we will assign you to a team on the day of the game.

The program will include live dance performances and live music by a folk singer from Azerbaijan. What a great evening to connect to Azerbaijani community and our roots!
